Mission
Each year, Step It Up seeks to provide new tennis shoes to hundreds of children in Elgin and surrounding communities as they enter into the new school year.
Since its beginning, Step It Up has provided over 13,000 pairs of shoes to children in our community - a number that we are blessed to see continue to grow year after year.
We are able to provide these shoes through partnerships with other congregations, businesses and through donations from caring individuals. Through this ministry we meet a need in the community and share God’s love with those close to home.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 5TH
Registration is currently FULL, and we are not taking additional registrations at this time.

WHAT TO KNOW
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE SHOES?
We provide shoes for children in the Fox Valley area from age Preschool to High School.
WHEN & WHERE DO WE RECEIVE SHOES?
We will be distributing shoes at First Baptist Church of Elgin (1735 W Highland Ave, Elgin, IL) on Saturday, August 5th from 9am to 4pm. Shoes are not available to be received outside of the designated Distribution Day.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
All children receiving shoes must be present. Shoes will not be provided for children who are not present to be fitted for new shoes.
Children will only receive shoes that are the current & proper shoe size. All children will be fitted on-site to ensure the correct size.
Shoes will be distributed on a “first come, first served” basis, and therefore we cannot guarantee that your child’s size will be available.

Step It Up is always accepting shoe donations (new shoes only, used shoes cannot be accepted) - donations can be dropped off at the church office, or (if ordering online) shipped directly to us! The church address is:

Shoe shopping not your thing? You can also support the mission of Step It Up with a financial contribution - let us do the shopping for you! Make checks payable to First Baptist Church and write “Step It Up” on the memo line. Checks can be mailed to or dropped off at the address above (office hours are M-F, 8:30am to 4:30pm).
